About this door

These Hardwood Apollo Ready to Glaze External Doors are an ideal choice for those looking for a traditional style, with a unique twist.

Offering something completely different, these doors have a popular cottage style with a circular glazing aperture adding an attractive and stylish twist.

Ideal for cottages, barn conversions, modern and traditional properties, these can be coupled with your ideal glass option in order to create a great look suiting your particular tastes.

Typical period style vertical boards create greater visual interest, with raised mouldings around the glazing aperture completing a fantastic look to both sides of the door.

Glazing

Supplied ready to glaze with a range of glass options available, these doors will accept a 4/6/4 cavity double glazed unit.

The glass sizes for this door would have a radius of approximately 163mm and a diameter of approximately 326mm. These are estimated sizes and given for reference reasons only - please do not order any glazing based on these sizes.

Finishing

External hardwood doors can be stained or painted. We recommend the use of Oil based finishes.

The correct storage, fitting and finishing of your new door/s are very important factors in getting the best out of your purchase.

We would always recommend reading our Door Care information which can be viewed by Clicking Here, along with any additional manufacturers documentation supplied with the door itself.

Things we thought you may need to know!

Please be aware that any glass supplied may be temporarily glazed (loose pinned) into the door or even supplied separate. This is done to make the door easier to decorate (allows you to paint/stain behind rebates) and handle whilst hanging.

These doors are manufactured using LVL (Laminated Veneered Lumber). LVL or more commonly known as “engineered timber” is a modern method of construction that is economical with the use of natural timber resources. The main parts & rails of the door are usually constructed using solid strips/blocks of timber (some internals may contain a laminated board and/or particleboard), which are then glued and then clamped together. They are then faced with a veneer and edged with a solid timber “lipping”. The benefits of using engineered construction doors over more traditional methods are; The door has a much more uniform look (no mismatched colours/panels, everything matches), It is far more unlikely to twist, split (we do not get problems with panels splitting) and possibly the most important reason is that it is much more Eco friendly!
