About this door

These 40mm Oak Pattern 10 pairs have a very substantial look & feel to them. This is partly down to much wider stiles & rails than found on other, similar looking products. These internal pairs also benefit from the use of a high quality crown cut veneer which really does give the door a quality aura.

Handings:

Glazing

This door is supplied pre-glazed with clear toughened safety glass.

Finishing

Supplied Unfinished, these doors are able to take a stain or paint finish. Our recommendation for a natural, clear finish would be to use a Treatex Hardwax Oil, which is available from the "Stains, Paints and Finishes" section of our website.

On this product, there is also an option for the door to be supplied pre-finished by our french polisher. If you select this option, your door will be supplied pre-finished to a professional standard.

Your door will be pre-sanded before being sealed with a shellac sanding sealer. When dry, the door is then "de-nibbed" with a 400 grit sand paper and hand polished with two coats of Finpol French Polish, specially formulated for doors and internal joinery.

This achieves a great looking semi-matt finish which is resistant to knocks and finger marks and is smooth to the touch.

Selecting this option will add approximately a week on to any estimated lead time.

Things we thought you may need to know!

These doors are manufactured using LVL (Laminated Veneered Lumber). LVL or more commonly known as “engineered timber” is a modern method of construction that is economical with the use of natural timber resources. The main parts & rails of the door are usually constructed using solid strips/blocks of timber (some internals may contain a laminated board and/or particleboard), which are then glued and then clamped together. They are then faced with a veneer and edged with a solid timber “lipping”. The benefits of using engineered construction doors over more traditional methods are; The door has a much more uniform look (no mismatched colours/panels, everything matches), It is far more unlikely to twist, split (we do not get problems with panels splitting) and possibly the most important reason is that it is much more Eco friendly!
