About this door

The Internal Oak Bristol 2 Light 2 Panel is ideal for enhancing any house or apartment, whether it be a contemporary or more traditional style. Trancending both, in a shaker style these flat panelled internal glazed doors will introduce a sharp and minimalistic theme to your home.

In a traditional design, the combination of a shaker style along with flat panels give a nod towards the ever popular four panel doors, without the more traditional raised and fielded panels or more intracate beading around the panels or glass - achieving a far cleaner and modern look.

Two apertures glazed with a clear toughened glass allow light to floor between rooms and give the door a fantastic look.

Available in solid panelled door and fire door options, this family of doors allows you to complete the look throughout the property.

Glazing

This door is supplied pre-glazed with a clear safety glass.

Supplied unfinished, these doors are able to take a stain or paint finish. Our recommendation for a natural, clear finish would be to use a Treatex Hardwax Oil, which is available from the "Stains, Paints and Finishes" section of our website.

On this product, there is also an option for the door to be supplied pre-finished by our french polisher. If you select this option, your door will be supplied pre-finished to a professional standard.

Your door will be pre-sanded with 180 grit sandpaper before being sprayed with a base coat of A/C lacquer. When dry, the door is then "de-nibbed" by hand and sprayed with further top coats of A/C lacquer, specially formulated for doors and internal joinery.

This achieves a great looking semi-matt finish which is resistant to knocks and finger marks and is smooth to the touch.

Selecting this option will add approximately a week to any estimated lead time.

The correct storage, fitting, and finishing of your new doors are very important factors in getting the best out of your purchase.

Please always avoid the use of water-based finishing products as this may cause the door to bow, warp or delaminate. Using these types of products will invalidate your guarantee.

Before finishing your door, we would always recommend reading our Door Care information which can be viewed by clicking here, along with any additional manufacturer's documentation supplied with the door itself.

These doors are manufactured using laminated veneered lumber (LVL). LVL or more commonly known as “engineered timber” is a modern method of construction that is economical with the use of natural timber resources.

The main parts & rails of the door are usually constructed using solid strips/blocks of timber (some internals may contain a laminated board and/or particleboard), which are then glued and then clamped together.

They are then faced with a veneer and edged with a solid timber “lipping”. The benefits of using engineered construction doors over more traditional methods are that it is far more unlikely to twist or split (we do not get problems with panels splitting) and possibly the most important reason is that it is much more eco-friendly!
