• Building Regulation approved - Slender Fit Glass complies with Building Regulations Document L England (it also complies with Welsh and Scottish regulations) which means it meets the requirements for improved thermal insulation levels for glazing which is designed to help reduce carbon emissions.

• Slim line glazing - Slender Fit Glass is as thin as traditional single glazed windows, making it a sleek choice for glazed external doors. The glazing is so thin thanks to the smaller spaces between the two panes of glass which reduce the required glazing width. Usually to achieve maximum insulating values the space between the panes should be around 16 – 19mm which when including the width of the glass pane makes the double glazed units between 22 - 25mm. Therefore Slender Fit Glass is much thinner than regular double glazing at just 11 - 13.5mm.

• Eco friendly - Slender Fit Glass is constructed to reduce heat emissions and the emissivity coating on the inside of the glazing reflects the heat back into the room. The glazing’s Warm Edge Technology ensures the insulation levels are consistent throughout the glazing, from the centre to the very edge of each pane.

The technical bit!

Levels of insulation are measured in U values. The lower the U value, the better the insulation level.Today it is necessary (in certain cases, new build, extensions etc...) for double glazed units in doors to comply with building regulations in respect of these U-Values. In 2001 the government introduced regulation document Part L, in which states “you need to use doors with better a u-value than 2.2W/m2K IF they have more than 50% glazing.” Our slender fit double glazed units can comply with these regulations as they create a minimum U-Value of 1.8

Slender fit Double glazed units are constructed with a 4mm Toughened clear outer pane, a cavity of between 3.5 to 6mm (warm edge spacer bar), a mixture of Cavity insulating inert gasses (Argon & Krypton) and a inner pane of 4mm Toughened Low Emissivity glass (Pilkington K). This technology creates a double glazed unit with a U-Value of 1.8

The emissivity coating is on the inside face into the cavity and reflects the long wave radiation (or heat) back into the room. The warm edge technology perimeter spacer incorporated, ensures insignificant differential insulation value between edge and centre of glass.
