What does base coat protect against?
The Impranol base coats that we provide are excellent for protecting external doors against a variety of elements. It protects against fungal growth thanks to the solvents and biocides; they also offer UV resistance thanks to light resistant pigments.
Impranol base coats offer a micro-porous, water repellent film which does not peel, crack or blister. This means your door will have superb protection against rain and moisture. It includes a soya-based binding agent which offers enhanced protection against humidity.
A variety of base coat colours
We stock 6 stunning and natural coloured base coats for treating doors. Each has the same excellent practical benefits and protective characteristics, with carefully measured colour to complement the door’s surroundings. These colours are subtle light oak, slightly deeper antique oak, rich mahogany, light walnut, darker walnut and warm chestnut.
Two-part base coat system
Impranol colour base coats are one component of a recommended two-part system. For the best durability and highest quality finish possible, you should apply a base coat of Impranol Colour, followed by two coats of Impranol Elan finish.
