About this door
These 40mm Oak Pattern 10 pairs have a very substantial look & feel to them. This is partly down to much wider stiles & rails than found on other, similar looking products. These internal pairs also benefit from the use of a high quality crown cut veneer which really does give the door a quality aura.
This door comes in a shaker style, meaning the door has been built around the glazing so it doesn't have to be held in by a beading or traditional timber moulding.
This door remains a very popular option within our range and features an A-Grade American White Oak, which when finished really comes to life and gives an elegant look.
This door is complemented by matching timber panelled doors, as well as a fire door, bi-fold door and rebated door pairs allowing you to complete the look throughout the property.
Due to the contemporary style of these doors, they use a thicker section of timber (usually around 140mm). This means that smaller size door pair options will feature a smaller area of glass than those pictured.
The style of these doors dictates that the stiles (140mm) are wider/thicker than the top rail (115mm). These doors also feature a large bottom rail (225mm).
This door is supplied pre-glazed with clear toughened safety glass.
Please Note: Due to the contemporary style of these doors, they use a thicker section of timber (usually around 140mm). This means that smaller size door pair options will feature a smaller area of glass than those pictured.
Supplied unfinished, these doors are able to take a stain or paint finish. Our recommendation for a natural, clear finish would be to use a Treatex Hardwax Oil, which is available from the "Stains, Paints and Finishes" section of our website.
The correct storage, fitting, and finishing of your new doors are very important factors in getting the best out of your purchase.
We would always recommend reading our Door Care information which can be viewed by clicking here, along with any additional manufacturer's documentation supplied with the door itself.
These doors are manufactured using laminated veneered lumber (LVL). LVL or more commonly known as “engineered timber” is a modern method of construction that is economical with the use of natural timber resources.
The main parts & rails of the door are usually constructed using solid strips/blocks of timber (some internals may contain a laminated board and/or particleboard), which are then glued and then clamped together.
They are then faced with a veneer and edged with a solid timber “lipping”. The benefits of using engineered construction doors over more traditional methods are that it is far more unlikely to twist or split (we do not get problems with panels splitting) and possibly the most important reason is that it is much more eco-friendly!
