About this door

These 44mm Softwood Cawthorne Doors have a very substantial look & feel to them. Individually hand crafted by one joiner from start to finish, these bespoke, quality doors will add a real touch of elegance to any property.

The Cawthorne will allow you to bring the maximum amount of light into your property, whatever your choice of glazing and adds a fantastic Victorian look to your home.

Shown in our photos with a dentil frieze and double cricket bat panel, this door is a fantastic choice for those wishing to create a great feature to their own tastes.

As these doors are hand made in the joinery shop, certain timber sections are set sizes and other panels and sections can differ depending on the overall size of the door. On this door, the centre upright between glazing panels isn't usually wide enough to accomodate a door knocker, if you are looking to use something like this, please give us a call on 0114 2557800 or drop us an email via info@doordeals.co.uk to discuss potential options.

Custom Sizes

On this product there is an option to have the door made to a custom size. The maximum dimensions we can offer would be 914mm (36") x 2133mm (84"). There is an additional charge for this service (see size dropdown box for details).

Things we thought you may need to know!

Please be aware that any glass supplied may be temporarily glazed (loose pinned) into the door or even supplied separately. This is done to make the door easier to decorate (allows you to paint/stain behind rebates) & handle whilst hanging.

These doors are constructed with solid Softwood, our standard softwood timbers are Douglas Fir or Hemlock.

These doors are constructed by traditional methods using mortice & tenon joints for strength and durability. Panels are set into grooved channels within the door stiles and rails.

These doors may be delivered with extended stiles (horns) to ensure protection during transit & storage. They can easily be removed prior to installation.

Please note, these doors are supplied with a primer coat.

This door comes with the optional choice of glazing. We order the glass in especially for you, so it will add a small amount of time to the overall manufacturing lead times.

At present, most glazing options are taking between 3 - 10 working days (approx) to arrive into us.

Where available, specialist glass such as stained, leaded, or encapsulated glass can take up to 6 weeks; however, we think it's worth the wait!

It's important to factor in these lead times, as once ordered, we are unable to cancel or refund the glazing.

As we manufacture these doors in the house, we can offer you the option to configure the door to your own individual tastes. There are several options to change the shape & style of the panels & the mid-rail frieze detail.
