About this door

The Canterbury 2 Light Clear Glazed Textured FD30 Fire Door is a great choice for those looking for a traditional and understated look, whilst benefiting from the peace of mind of additional fire safety.

In a traditional four-panel style, with the top two panels glazed, these doors have a distinct wood grain effect and whilst suitable to be painted, are a great option that suits the majority of interiors. The glazed panels allow light to flood between rooms whilst maintaining a minimum of 30 minutes of fire protection when the door is installed as per the recommendations of the fire certification.

Achieving a great balance in looks and value, this range features matching solid panelled and non-fire door options to allow you to complete the look throughout the property.

Glazing

These doors are supplied pre-glazed with 7.2mm clear pyroguard glass.

This door is supplied pre-primed, meaning that it has been factory treated with a base coat.

This door will require further topcoats of a paint product in order to finish the door, it's recommended that decoration is performed straight away.

The correct storage, fitting, and finishing of your new door(s) are very important factors in getting the best out of your purchase and can often be a precursor to any guarantee.

We would always recommend reading our Door Care information which can be viewed by clicking here, along with any additional manufacturer's documentation supplied with the door itself.

These doors are manufactured using laminated veneered lumber (LVL). LVL or more commonly known as “engineered timber” is a modern method of construction that is economical with the use of natural timber resources.

The main parts & rails of the door are usually constructed using solid strips/blocks of timber (some internals may contain a laminated board and/or particleboard), which are then glued and then clamped together.

They are then faced with a veneer and edged with a solid timber “lipping”. The benefits of using engineered construction doors over more traditional methods are that it is far more unlikely to twist or split (we do not get problems with panels splitting) and possibly the most important reason is that it is much more eco-friendly!
