About this door

The Hardwood Derby Triple Glazed Leaded External door is manufactured from kiln-dried red hardwood engineered timber in an attractive and popular traditional style.

With attractive leaded triple glazed feature glass, this door allows light to pass into your home whilst maintaining a small degree of privacy. Bevelled edges, diamond leading and glue chip are all featured within this glass option meaning an attractive and aesthetically pleasing view.

Mortice and tenon joints are used to ensure strength and a genuine nod towards a traditional door construction from a bygone era. Raised mouldings to the outside of the door, coupled with beautiful raised and fielded bottom panels offer greater visual depth and give the door a look that exudes quality.

Glazing

Supplied pre-glazed with triple glazed leaded feature, this door will let light into the home whilst creating a unique and pleasing feature.

Supplied unfinished, these doors are able to take a stain or paint finish. A range of products would be suitable, including Impranol, which is available from the "Stains, Paints and Finishes" section of our website.

The correct storage, fitting, and finishing of your new doors are very important factors in getting the best out of your purchase.

We would always recommend reading our Door Care information which can be viewed by clicking here, along with any additional manufacturer's documentation supplied with the door itself.

These doors are manufactured using laminated veneered lumber (LVL). LVL or more commonly known as “engineered timber” is a modern method of construction that is economical with the use of natural timber resources.

The main parts & rails of the door are usually constructed using solid strips/blocks of timber (some internals may contain a laminated board and/or particleboard), which are then glued and then clamped together.

They are then faced with a veneer and edged with a solid timber “lipping”. The benefits of using engineered construction doors over more traditional methods are that it is far more unlikely to twist or split (we do not get problems with panels splitting) and possibly the most important reason is that it is much more eco-friendly!
