About this door
The White Primed Nostalgia Islington Clear Glazed is a timelessly popular traditional victorian style door..
Featuring flat panels rather than the more commonly seen raised and fielded, these doors also have wider than normal middle and bottom rails giving the door more visual interest and an authentic Edwardian look. Around the panels, this door features a more intricate and attractive beading profile adding to the aesthetic and overall sense of quality.
Also available in a complementary fire door and solid panelled option, this door is a fantastic choice for those looking for a genuine traditional look throughout their property.
This door is pre-glazed with a clear safety glass, allowing light to pass through the opening and creating a feeling of spaciousness.
This door is supplied pre-primed, meaning that it has been factory treated with a base coat.
This door will require further topcoats of a paint product in order to finish the door, it's recommended that decoration is performed straight away.
The correct storage, fitting, and finishing of your new door(s) are very important factors in getting the best out of your purchase and can often be a precursor to any guarantee.
We would always recommend reading our Door Care information which can be viewed by clicking here, along with any additional manufacturer's documentation supplied with the door itself.
These doors are manufactured using laminated veneered lumber (LVL). LVL or more commonly known as “engineered timber” is a modern method of construction that is economical with the use of natural timber resources.
The main parts & rails of the door are usually constructed using solid strips/blocks of timber (some internals may contain a laminated board and/or particleboard), which are then glued and then clamped together.
They are then faced with a veneer and edged with a solid timber “lipping”. The benefits of using engineered construction doors over more traditional methods are that it is far more unlikely to twist or split (we do not get problems with panels splitting) and possibly the most important reason is that it is much more eco-friendly!
