About this door
These Hardwood 1 light stable doors are manufactured from kiln-dried red hardwood timber. Every effort is made to ensure that all timber used for our doors comes from well-managed forests where more trees are planted than harvested. The standard manufacture uses Through Mortice and Tenon construction. All doors have beading cut, mitred, and pinned.
Things we thought you may need to know!
Whilst we would always recommend fitting these doors to open inwards, they may also be used to open outwards where necessary.
Please be aware that any glass supplied may be temporarily glazed (loose pinned) into the door or even supplied separately. This is done to make the door easier to decorate (allows you to paint/stain behind rebates) & handle whilst hanging.
Supplied unfinished, these doors are able to take a stain or paint finish. A range of products would be suitable, including Impranol, which is available from the "Stains, Paints and Finishes" section of our website.

These doors are manufactured using laminated veneered lumber (LVL). LVL or more commonly known as “engineered timber” is a modern method of construction that is economical with the use of natural timber resources.
The main parts & rails of the door are usually constructed using solid strips/blocks of timber (some internals may contain a laminated board and/or particleboard), which are then glued and then clamped together.
They are then faced with a veneer and edged with a solid timber “lipping”. The benefits of using engineered construction doors over more traditional methods are that it is far more unlikely to twist or split (we do not get problems with panels splitting) and possibly the most important reason is that it is much more eco-friendly!
