About this door

The Oak Derby Sidelight is an elegant classic and an ideal design for more traditional properties.

Usually used alongside a standard door, in order to creating a warm, light and welcoming entrance to your home this sidelight creates and unique and attractive feature and elegant talking point, with raised mouldings to the outside face of the door adding interest to the aesthetic.

With a fabulous leaded pattern within a triple glazed unit, this door not only looks fantastic, but gives a traditional look without the downsides of a single traditional glazing panel.

These glazing panels allow light to flood into your property and create a spacious and welcoming entranceway.

One or more of these sidelights can be used with complementary doors in order to create a flexible and grand entranceway.

This door is supplied pre-glazed with triple glazed feature safety glass.

Supplied unfinished, these doors are able to take a stain or paint finish. A range of products would be suitable, including Impranol, which is available from the "Stains, Paints and Finishes" section of our website.

The correct storage, fitting and finishing of your new doors are very important factors in getting the best out of your purchase.

We would always recommend reading our Door Care information which can be viewed by clicking here, along with any additional manufacturers documentation supplied with the door itself.

These doors are manufactured using laminated veneered lumber (LVL). LVL or more commonly known as “engineered timber” is a modern method of construction that is economical with the use of natural timber resources.

The main parts & rails of the door are usually constructed using solid strips/blocks of timber (some internals may contain a laminated board and/or particleboard), which are then glued and then clamped together.

They are then faced with a veneer and edged with a solid timber “lipping”. The benefits of using engineered construction doors over more traditional methods are that it is far more unlikely to twist or split (we do not get problems with panels splitting) and possibly the most important reason is that it is much more eco-friendly!
